One family, one land,
one tradition
Ristorante Golgo was born from a bond with an extraordinary land and from the will to safeguard the culinary heritage of Ogliastra: for generations the Tegas Family has lived and worked on this land, where farming and cooking are part of the very same story.
A vision born of courage
The beginnings, between vision and determination
Ristorante Golgo was founded in the late Seventies from an idea few would have dared to imagine. A small cooperative of young people decided to believe in a land that back then seemed far from everything, when the Golgo plateau was not yet a known destination and simply reaching it was already a courageous choice.
Those were times when no one would have imagined that travellers might one day drive kilometres of dirt road just to reach Golgo. And yet, among those young people was Silvano Tegas, the only one who believed in it wholeheartedly from the very first day, with a confidence that went beyond what everyone else was able to see.
The Tegas Family at Golgo
Over the years the restaurant grew together with the fame of this extraordinary land. More and more people began to discover the landscapes of Baunei, and Golgo became the gateway to all the beaches of the Gulf of Orosei, making this part of Sardinia known throughout the world.
At the end of the Nineties the original cooperative was dissolved: many took different paths, but Silvano Tegas stayed at Golgo. With hard work, sacrifice and a determination that no scepticism had ever dented, he carried the restaurant forward along with his bond to this land, keeping intact the identity and the tradition that had driven him to set out in the first place.
The legacy of a generation
Today it is his son Gianluca Tegas who takes up that legacy, and he does so with the same respect for this land and the same conviction that guided his father for over fifty years.
Every day the Tegas Family continues to nurture what makes Ristorante Golgo unique: our own farm, the production of meats and cured meats, the constant search for the finest ingredients and a cuisine that tells the authentic tradition of Ogliastra.
So much has changed since those days in the late Seventies. One thing, however, has stayed the same: the will to welcome every guest with the simplicity, the authenticity and the love for this land that gave rise to it all.
